Exile

It seems that I am going to be in somewhat of a virtual exile for a while.

No matter how I fiddle, the old Steam powered PC will not allow me to visit.

Odd as it was working fine a few weeks back, but looks like a driver issue, and it is an old AGP card...

Serves me right for wanting to do a clean windows install over the top of a working machine.

I might be found wandering early (UK) at the weekends, depends if I can pry the laptop from Harriett.

Take good care all, have a good and safe one!

Fading

If anyone should notice I may be a little scarce in world for a while.

Mainly due to technical issues with a dead pair of PCs.

Secondly, A little time to reflect on lessons learnt.

I've been told that I ought to seek professional help as I think I am a cat...  o.O

That comment hit a nerve, ontop of other things that have happened in world.

Please rest assured I will return, there are some fine people in there that I shall not abandon, just a few wounds to lick.

Should anyone want me - there are those who know how to find me,

Yours,

Boris,

Looking Around

It has kinda become a virtual tradition of mine over the Christmas break having spare time to wander the welcome areas and info hubs of SL.  Most of my usual friends are not in-world at this time, holidays etc.

This year had the added 'joy' of voice to the mix.

I dispare at what I saw in some of the welcome areas.  I wonder what motivates these people.  I worry about their Real Lives and social interactions.  Do the behave like that just while they are here?  I presume so - anonimity is a great thing to enbolden people.

They don't like being challenged - most child like reactions.  Alas most I assume are, well, teenagers at least.  They have the technical ability to use SL, but when here - waste all their talent, and undeniably spoil it for others.

With the disbanding of the offical helper or welcome groups by our Linden Overlords, I do worry what the future may hold.  The behaviour will certainly put a lot of people off if they think the rest of SecondLife is the domain of digitally feral people.

I ponder becoming a light in the Darkness.

Looking Back

It is that time of year when to some extent we all reflect on the past year and the one to come. This is true of Second Life as well as the first.

The previous year has been about friends, making new ones, getting to know old ones better, watching some fade or move on, and getting a second chance with others. There has sadly been more than enough 'drama' to keep things for getting boring. I have learnt a great deal. I only hope that I add something to those I know and meet.

I have learnt that it is people more than pixels that really make Second Life.

Welcome

Welcome to my journal of my wanderings and ponderings in Second Life.

It is now just over one thousand days since I first rezzed in this virtual world ( 1,011).

I intend this journal to give me some structure to my time in this world, to add something to my time in there.  I may write on the places I find, the venues, the events, and some of the people.

I may also share my ponderings on life, both second and first.
